I started Triple J Saipan under Bubba Gump Shrimp CO. Saipan as part of the opening team in 2016. Bubba Gump brought in people from all around the world to train the newly hired Saipan employees. These people were called "Certified Trainers" because they were experts in a specific station in the restaurant from kitchen to bar to servers. Because of my work ethic and positive attitude, I was selected to be a certified trainer for the Bubba Gump in Saipan. I was nervous at first but I gained confidence as I got comfortable in my work station and learned more about Bubba Gump. A year later, we got a new executive chef by the name of Chef Benjamin Babauta. He is standing here with us tonight. Chef Ben joined Triple J but also was a Culinary Instructor from NMTech. Because of this, Mr. Jones wanted ten of the existing Triple J employees to enroll at the NMTech Culinary Arts Program to better ourselves and benefit our company.

At NMTech, we learned about safety and sanitation. We learned the proper ways to cook and clean fruits, vegetables, and starches. We also learned more about chicken, beef, pork, and seafood. It was a good idea to get a training from a local trade school with chefs that have a culinary school degree and years of experience. I was one of the employees that was selected to attend NMTech and completed the program which Triple J paid for. I learned so much from NMTech! It benefit me because I was learning in a classroom setting and in a real kitchen setting at the same time.

After the program, i felt more confident in myself as a cook and as a certified trainer. with my education and hard work, I was then promoted to a Manager Assistant for Bubba Gump Shrimp in 2019. I was given new responsibilities and was able to handle it through the training I received at NMTech and Bubba Gump. Because of the pandemic, Bubba Gump Shrimp had to stop operations but luckily Triple J has different establishments that I was able to transfer to to do what I still love. In february 2020, Mr. Jones moved me to Tinian to run Bar K Diner and other outlets as well.

I challenge you to better yourself through one of the most convenient, educational, amazing schools CNMI has to offer! I have no regrets and you won't either! Biba NMTech! Biba Tinian!
